It would seem that the relationship between Chantelle Houghton and Alex Reid is well and truly over, and Chantelle is finally moving on, starting with moving house, according to the Daily Mail newspaper!

Alex Reid and Chantelle Houghton split up a few weeks ago, after the repeated and turbulent rows they experienced resulted in Reid being arrested after Houghton phoned police after he kicked in the front door of the family home whilst their 3 month old daughter was asleep inside!

Recalling the night, she explained: “I ran downstairs with every intention of opening the door. But as I got halfway down the stairs, I saw the door smash in, the alarm was set off and Dolly started screaming. I was frightened.”

Since then both she and Reid have made public declarations and statements about their future together, but it would seem that things have got far too messy to get back together!

Chantelle, who used to be married to Samuel Preston, was pictured on Tuesday bringing out boxes filled with her personal belongings from the Essex home she used to share with Reid.

Amongst the boxes packed, some were taken by the former Celebrity Big Brother winner to the British Heart Foundation charity shop nearby to her.

Whilst clearing through the house, the blonde bombshell, who was dressed in Leopard print for moving day, was met by a squatter, of which she took to social networking site, Twitter, to announce to her followers, tweeting: ‘Packing up my house today, walked downstairs to find a rat in the kitchen last night! It got in from the river by side of house in basement!’

Her decision to move was briefly explained in Chantelle’s new! magazine column this week, in which she wrote:

“The house I’m in now holds bad memories for me.”

“I think with houses, if you walk in and get a really nice feeling, that’s more important than, “It must have this, it must have that.” From day one, this house has never felt right.”

Opening up in a recent OK! magazine interview, Chantelle confessed that she found the whole ordeal with Alex and the door being kicked in very frightening, and explained the sequence of events that had led up to the incident.

According to the former hairdresser, on the evening in question, Alex had gone to stay with his parents, which upset Chantelle who didn’t want him to spend the night away from her and Dolly, so she asked him to come home, which he blatantly refused to do.

The next morning she asked him what his plans were for that evening, and when he failed to reply she assumed he would be staying with his parents again.

So when he turned up aggressively, threatening to kick down the door, which he later did, Chantelle was caught unawares and like a rabbit in the headlights.

“When the door smashed open, I screamed at him that I was going to call the police because he was frightening me. And he said: ‘Go on, call the police.’ And that scared me more. I was shaking.’
