Former X Factor judge Cheryl Cole has rubbished the endless rumours that she is about to get engaged to her dancer boyfriend, Tre Holloway, once and for all!
Reports about the relationship status between the nations sweetheart and Tre have been rife ever since the couple got together last year, but they began spiralling last week when reports emerged claiming that American dancer Tre had asked Cheryl’s father for her hand in marriage, as well as claiming that he had also begun searching for the perfect ring.
Following this story Cheryl took to social networking site, Twitter, to put the rumours to bed once and for all tweeting: ‘Ok.. That’s enough silliness… I am not, nor am I getting engaged or married! Stop it *Stephen A Smith voice*.’
The rumours began when the Sunday Mirror newspaper printed a story where a source was said to have told them: “Cheryl told Tre over Christmas that she was starting to think about marrying again, something she never thought she’d contemplate after her divorce from Ashley.”
The source also apparently claimed that Tre had sought permission form Cheryl’s father, and that he had agreed:
“[Garry] decided to give his permission but asked [him] just to make sure he was 100 per cent sure when he proposed.”
This wasn’t helped at all when Cheryl’s best friend and Girls Aloud band mate, Kimberley Walsh also speculated about wedding bells for Cheryl when she told Jonathan Ross that she and Tre could ‘go the distance’ when she recently appeared on his chat show.
Kimberley said: “She’s known him for quite a long time. A few years, he danced for her the first time years and years ago. Yeah he’s a lovely guy so I’m happy that he makes her happy.
“‘I think it could definitely go the distance, yeah they’re really happy.”
