DanceX: Arlene Phillips and Bruno Tonioli Hunting For Dancers And Singers
Arlene Phillips and Bruno Tonioli are strutting back on to our screens in brand new show, DanceX on BBC One.
The acclaimed choreographers are leaving their Strictly Come Dancing sequins at home and upping the funk factor as they go head to head in search of the next big thing to take the UK dance scene by storm.
They are scouring the country for top notch male and female performers for the programme, which will see the very best dancers and singers win a place in a brand new group.
Leaving no stone unturned, the dance duo are transforming town squares into make-shift dance floors and raiding venues from church halls to nightclubs in their hunt for the country’s coolest dance floor divas and sassiest songsters.
From breakdancing to body-popping, hip hop grooves to fusion funk, contestants must prove they’ve got what it takes to be part of the next big thing.
Thirty years after Arlene’s sexy troupe Hot Gossip revolutionised dance on TV, she and Bruno are hoping the country’s most talented hot–trotters will sashay down to auditions for their latest project.
Arlene says: “We’re looking for the coolest, hippest dancers and singers, who have the drive and ambition to make it big and be part of the most exciting new group of the 21st century.”
Arlene and Bruno put their reputations on the line and go head-to-head as they take two teams of finalists under their wings. Each week, the hopefuls strut their stuff with the latest dance moves and show off their vocal talent in the hope that they won’t be put up for elimination.
