Dancing on Ice: Axed Jason Gardiner says DOI has to “discover a new identity if it’s going to continue”

Proving that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, axed Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner has revealed that he thinks the hit ITV1 show has “lost its way” since he was ditched.

As fans of DOI will know, Jason was replaced by sibilant dancer and Pineapple Dance Studios star, Louie Spence, who is frankly impossibly/unnaturally bendy.

Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, Jason said, “I’m sure they’re going to have to look at what they need to do to improve the show.

“I firmly believe it’s a great show but it’s lost its way.

“They need to discover a new identity for it if it is going to continue.”

Jason was unceremoniously dumped from the show after what was described at the time as “a string of heated rows” with the show’s producers…

Soon after he left, he said, “I’ve been stitched up,” but added that he wasn’t that fond of the job anyway.

He said, “It wasn’t a job that I loved to do. It wasn’t what I studied.

“Dance is one thing but judging on a panel about ice skating wasn’t something I was passionate about.”

Jason is currently preparing to travel the world for “a major new series” which is set to air next year.

What did you think about Jason going? Were you mad, sad or glad?

And would you like to see Louie continue in the role or be replaced?
