District 3 leave the X Factor behind and Union J shoot their debut video!

Since appearing on The X Factor last year, District 3 have revealed they are now ready to go it alone and show their music to the world as they prepare for their upcoming headline tour.

The three shot to stardom since that very first live X Factor show last year and after meeting through school and forming band with the mutual love for RnB music and harmony singing, they were determined to succeed.

However even before appearing on The X Factor the boys already had a strong fan base known as the ‘3eeks’ because of their love of uploading videos onto Youtube, resulting in millions of views.

The boys are said to be grateful to The X Factor for the platform it has given them and also their loyal fan base, the ‘3eeks.’

They said: “It’s been crazy. It  is such a great platform and we have such a lot to thank them for giving us an opportunity. We might not have had the chance to have a own tour and record an EP without it and obviously the X Factor tour was great as well. We are really, really grateful for the 3eeks as well. They have always been really crazy supportive.”

They went on to add: “Their loyalty has been great and it is nice to give something back with the tour and hopefully they will enjoy the shows.”

They have also admitted that the step up from performing live shows on The X Factor and then proceeding to perform at some of the countries biggest well known arenas, is ‘a little bit nerve-wracking.’

Greg West said: “When we were on the X Factor tour people were going to see seven different acts but this time it is just us so all the focus will be on us. The X Factor tour was really great and to play those huge venues was incredible so early in our career.”

Talking about the direction their music is heading in, the three boys revealed that they definitely doing new material for the tour, which will be mainly RnB influenced like always, however their album is apparently going to be quite mixed. They claimed that the their debut album will be ‘quite varied,’ with a a lot of party songs, uptempo vide, as well as some stripped back acoustic numbers.

District 3 will kick of their debut headline UK tour in Sheffield on May 24 before touring the whole country right into June.

Elsewhere fellow X Factor boy band Union J, have shot the video for their debut single, ‘Carry You,’ in Nottingham.

The foursome, who appeared along side of District 3 in last years X Factor, shot the video in March in a two-day shoot with commissioned production company Wellplastic.
