Dragon’s Den star for new ‘Save Our Seaside’ show

duncan-bannatyneIt seems that Dragon’s Den star Duncan Bannatyne is about to put his not inconsiderable knowledge of revamping businesses to the test for a new TV show.

The Virgin Media show, ‘Save Our Seaside’ does exactly what it says on the tin and Duncan will play an integral role in rescuing some of the UK’s most downtrodden seaside resorts.

A spokesman for Virgin1 told the Press Association today, “We are really excited to be working with Duncan Bannatyne on what we hope will be a series which will capture the imaginations of the British people and encourage a regeneration of our seaside attractions – which are a huge part of our heritage” said a spokesperson for Virgin1.

An expert in the Leisure industry, Duncan will visit various seaside resorts around the UK including Barry Island in the Vale of Glamorgan and ‘Westcliff Leisure Park’ in Kent. In both resorts he’ll apparently “work on the attractions” and see how flagging tourist numbers can be boosted.

Do let me know if you require a top class comic impressionist whith personality and style that will increase fammily tourism back to the seaside towns. I speak with authority on this as i work these Haven camps regular.A film crew watching what i get thrown into would prove that things have to change if entertainers are going to be sadly a thing of the past.Reality tv has made household names out of talentless wannabes, consequently everybody wants to be recognised and no one wants to recognise anyone anymore.

The licencing laws have killed entertainment venues more than the smoking ban did.WHY?because males can drink all day and are either too drunk or too tired to listen to any one who shows up to entertain in the evening.Once upon a time folks prepared to go out in the evening with their spouses but all to often now they will go the pub to watch the match and stay out all day and night often still in their work gear. There isnt any order or routine to look forward anymore our culture has been redefined and as a result i believe for the worse, people abuse this freedom they abuse themselves and everyone who comes into contact with them from us poor bastards who have to entertain them to the police who arrest them and the hopital staff who try to stitch them.

Perhaps the real reason why people go to pubs and drink is because the entertainment being provided to them is of a poor quality. This is the logical response to the reasons behind the reduction in entertainment venue attendance; entertainment has depreciated to such a point that silently getting out of one’s self has become a better way of spending time. Surely the only solution is to do what it appears Duncan Bannatyne is trying to do, and actually improve entertainment to the extent that individuals will choose to attend entertainment events rather than stay in pubs and drink.

just seen them filming for the show in cornwall in a very nice farm shop resturant looks like they will be trying to learn something from the cornish success story to take to the deprived areas…
