Gavin Henson is set to show off his rippling muscles and ladie loving ways, in the UK version of ‘The Bachelor’.

The show has been picked up by Channel 5 and will feature the rugby ace – who was previously engaged to classical singer Charlotte Church – attempting to win the hearts of 25 beauties before eventually choosing one to date after the series ends.

Gavin – who is dad to two children, Ruby, three, and two-year-old Dexter with Charlotte – admitted that he hopes for more than a casual fling and wants to find his new wife through the TV show.

He said: “I’m so excited to have been cast as ‘The Bachelor’ as I really feel the time is right for me to find a girl to hopefully spend the rest of my life with. I’ve always been dedicated to my rugby and continue to train hard, but as the season draws to an end I can focus on meeting the right girl.

“It can be hard in my situation to meet women and ‘The Bachelor’ will give me the unique opportunity to go on some incredible dates and spend quality time getting to know amazing women from all over the UK.”

Among those competing for Gavin’s affections will be stunning models, a pair of blonde twins and a brainy web developer.

With filming already under way in the South of France, the Channel 5 series will see the girls battle it out in a number of challenges to prove they are determined to win the heart of the 29-year-old former Strictly Come Dancing contestant.
