Girls Aloud band together to ban booze on tour to support recovering alcoholic Sarah Harding!
Fans of the rather briefly reformed – their 2013 tour will be their last apparently – girl group Girls Aloud may be aware that singer Sarah Harding is currently on the wagon having battled an addiction to booze…
And today, it’s been revealed that booze has been banned from all backstage areas of the tour in order that Sarah won’t be tempted to fall off the sobriety wagon.
According to The Sun, her band mates, Cheryl Cole, Kimberley Walsh and Nadine Coyle all agreed that it’s for the best if the tour is a ‘dry’ one as apparently, two years on from quitting the bottle, Sarah is still experiencing cravings.
“She’s still dealing with her alcohol problem two years on — and they’ve decided to ban it out of respect to her.
“It’s only fair — they don’t want her falling off the wagon and going back to how she was after she split from Tom [Crane who was her fiancé].
“Tour staff — including dancers — are included in the ban, so if anyone wants a drink after the show they will have to leave the arena area to do so as it’s completely banned in the dressing rooms.”
The tour covers 19 dates, beginning in Cheryl’s native Newcastle and ending in Liverpool.
