Ever wondered what JLS‘ Aston Merrygold keeps on his bedroom trophy shelf?  Well, we can tell you, it’s a box of condoms with his face on it!

JLS had their images put on the boxes of Durex condoms back in 2010 in a pioneering move to promote safe sex, and it would seem that despite many people mocking them for their endorsement, their bold statements helped to win them over with the ladies.

Glamour model, Renay Louise, has come forward to explain how she was so impressed when she saw the condoms featuring Aston’s face next to his bed, that she allowed herself to be wooed by him (and use a few of them we imagine!)

According to the Sun newspaper, Renay claims to have met Aston in a posh nightspot where they exchanged numbers.  He then spent months sending her cheeky text messages trying to win her over.  Eventually the single-mum-of-one agreed to meet up with the singer for a night of passion, when she saw the condoms on display.

A source close to the glamour model told the publication that as well as the box on display, there was also an even bigger box in the wardrobe nearby, although this one was a pick and mix of all the  members of the band.  Although she was shocked, she was impressed that the singer was so hot on promoting safe sex.

The friend said: “There was a shelf with a few ornaments and, right in the middle, was this box of condoms with Aston’s face.

“He’d obviously put them on the shelf because it was something he was proud of.

“I think Renay thought it was funny, but it’s that type of character that attracted her to him. She thought he was a funny guy and said he was always great fun to be with.

“As if that wasn’t enough at the right-hand side of his bed in a mirrored wardrobe was another box with loads in!

“He was obviously serious about being safe. She slept with him that night and said she had a great time.”

Despite the lengthy courtship after their Mayfair meeting in April, the romance did not last between the two, but yesterday Renay confirmed their brief encounter, but had no bad words to say about Merrygold.She said: “We were seeing each other. He was a nice guy and there’s no hard feelings.”
