What made you apply for Grease?

“I just went up for it as a laugh at first but now I want to WIN! I have my family behind me 100% and I have great friends who I know will be there for me.”

Have you had any theatrical training?

“I haven’t had any training at all! I have been in the theatre before doing local shows. It feels surreal to have got this far; it still hasn’t hit me but when it does I know I will probably be as high as a kite.”

Has it been a difficult journey for you to get to this stage?

“There has been a lot of pressure to do well as I am also taking exams at the same time and, in that respect, I have been very emotional. But I know it’s all for a good reason and just basically have to rise above it.”

What are you looking forward to about moving to the house in London?

“I am looking forward to the training we will hopefully get and getting to know people who have similar interests to me! They are all older so will be a great learning curve. I will miss my whole house and mostly my hugs I get from my parents and my bed!”

What makes you think you can be the next Sandy?

“It’s a dream and when you have a dream you go and get it, so that’s what I want to do! I am young so I can be taught easily and I am willing to give everything a go and all I can do is be the best I can be.

“I want this a lot; I want to make my parents proud and prove to myself I can achieve something big, although to me getting this far I have already exceeded my goal by a long way.”

How do you think you would handle fame?

“I would love to just have a quiet meal at home with close friends and family. I think I would be good with fame as my feet are firmly planted in the ground. I won’t get carried away; I always think about family, etc, first.”

Who are your idols?

“I have idols for different reason; Steven Gerrard because of his focus and determination. Frank Sinatra because of his charm and his natural talent.”

What do you think of the judges?

“From what I have seen the judges are all lovely. They are supportive of me and all they have really said is that I am young and need to work on my sex appeal, but I am glad they have given me the chance to prove myself to them.”
