After the shock eviction of early favourites Tom Bradley and Kate Somerset-How, the seven remaining couples have been rehearsing hard all week in preparation for the second live show, and this week’s theme is Movie songs.

You Better Shape Up!

In an attempt to step up their game all the contestants, especially the boys, have been concentrating on getting themselves as fit as possible. They’ve been doing daily lengths in the swimming pool and they’ve even converted the lounge into a gym, complete with weights. Anthony Kavanagh, Michael Quinn and Richard Morgan, who have all received harsh criticism from the Judges about their size and fitness levels, are determined to prove to the Judges that they do have enough stamina to perform eight nights a week on the West End.

Dance choreographer Stacey Haines said of the boys differing fitness levels, “A number of the boys have been told that they need to shape up, and it’s only this week that I’ve noticed they’ve started to take that seriously. After we banned them from eating fast food and asked them to improve their diets and I’ve certainly noticed a raise in stamina levels this week.”

Fighting Talk

But it looks like pumping iron has gone to their heads this week and there’s been fighting talk in the house against their BBC rivals, the Joseph boys, “We could take them any day of the week. If we bumped into them in a dark ally, I’ve got no doubt us boys would kick their loin cloth asses!” challenges Michael Quinn. But it could become more of a dance off than a fight off as both shows have been using the same dance studio to rehearse in, “The Joseph boys have been using the same dance studio as us for training, we were tempted to rush in the other day and have a big dance off, as I’ve no doubt we’ve got better moves than them” said Bradley Clarkeson.

Slumber Party

But it’s not all been blood sweat and tears and the contestants have managed to take some time out to have some fun as well. The girls spent a night in together having a slumber party, eating popcorn, having pillow fights and watching their favourite movie, Grease of course!
