Engaged couple, Ben Jardine and Vicky Hoyles, auditioned together for ITV’s Grease Is The Word, hoping that they could play Sandy and Danny together on a West End Stage.

Unfortunately the shows judges didn’t share their dream and although both got through to bootcamp, a show insider has revealed that one did not make it through to the final 16.

An insider on the ITV1 show said: “Ben and Vicky are totally gutted as it was their dream to star together.

“They are both really good performers and impressed judges at the auditions.

“But Ben was not up to scratch and didn’t make it to the final 16.” The judges include David Ian — the stage show’s producer. The insider added: “David’s got serious money tied up in the show, so only the best can be put through.”

Ben, 25, of Leicester, told judges on last Saturday’s show: “I think we can be a good Sandy and Danny because we’ve got true love.”
