Has The Sun been hacked? Homepage reporting Rupert Murdoch’s apparent suicide / death! (Screenshot)

UPDATE: After staff seemingly fixed the bug, The Sun has been hacked once more, for the second time in just one hour. The homepage now redirects to the personal Twitter feed @LulzSec. News International has also been hacked. Read more here.

Twitter is a wonderful thing! We have just been alerted to the fact that The Sun has reportedly been hacked and it’s homepage is redirecting to a supposed story about Rupert Murdoch’s death.

When trying to hit the front page of the UK newspaper online, readers are being redirected to a website named new-times which is running a story about the media mogul’s apparent suicide.

The reporter claims that the 80 year old man ingested a lethal amount of palladium and was found dead in his ‘famous topiary garden’. The body was said to have been discovered ‘slumped over a particularly large garden hedge fashioned into a galloping horse.’

Judging by the ridiculous nature of the claims, we are assuming that the story is completely fake, but just for your amusement and because we know techies will have the problem fixed within minutes, check out the screen shot below.

It’s nice to see the tables turned for once, but we hope this doesn’t cause any upset for any unsuspecting members of Murdoch’s friends or family.
