Hells Kitchen USA…all too American!

Why is it that every American reality TV show has to have dubbed bits and voiceovers.

This has been especially noticeable in the current series of Hells Kitchen USA. Gordon Ramsay obviously found it necessary to touch up bits of speech that weren’t clear enough first time round, mostly insults I noticed. Its very similar to Big Brother USA when the housemates were made to read and re-read task instructions so the team could get the ‘perfect’ edit.

I can see why this is done, it obviously adds to the drama and impact of the whole programme. But somewhere along the way it looses its rawness and spontaneity, which I would think is the whole point of reality TV surely???
