Heavily pregnant Chantelle Houghton has issued a warning to Alexander Burke, who is currently involved with her ex, Tottenham Hotspur striker, Jermain Defoe, after it was alleged that the Premiership footballer has been cheating on the X Factor winner.

Houghton, who has been in the papers herself recently regarding rumours that her engagement to fiancee, and father of her unborn child, Alex Reid, has been called off, issued the warning in her weekly New magazine column, comparing their relationship to that of the one she shared with Defore for 4 months back in 2009.  She also advised the Bad Boys singer to ‘ditch him’, saying of the allegations:  ”I have heard that Jermain Defoe has allegedly slept with another woman behind Alexandra Burke’s back,”

“All I can say is that I really wouldn’t be surprised if it’s true, because he cheated on me too! I think that he’s a nasty little rat and should concentrate on scoring on the pitch rather than off it!”

Houghton, who is due to give birth any time now, went on to reveal that she ‘wished she had never got involved with’ Defoe, saying:  ”I hate the way he treats women. Anyway, how did he ever pull Alexandra Burke in the first place? I don’t know her, but I would definitely encourage her to ditch him.”

The allegations that Defoe had strayed away from home with Geordie model, Laura Brown in Newcastle, on what was apparently only their third time of meeting, were revealed last week.  The show went on for Burke though, as she put on a brave face and performed, as scheduled, at the weekend.

The model involved has come out and said that she regrets her actions and that she feels sorry for the 2008 X Factor winner, after the Sun newspaper reported the story, revealing that she had become friendly with the England International via social networking site, Facebook, with Brown admitting to the tabloid paper:  ”‘I’m not going to lie – we did have sex. I never planned on sleeping with him, it just happened. You can see girls in Newcastle clubs week after week with different footballers and I think, “You are so stupid,” now I’m the stupid one.”

Poor Alex Reid does seem to go for the girls who can’t stop talking about their ex’s, doesn’t he?
