Jedward to perform for Barack Obama in Ireland on Monday?

Jedward have reportedly been invited to perform for President Barack Obama during his first visit to Ireland tomorrow.

The Irish twins, who shot to fame on the X Factor last year, are thought to be planning to sing their Eurovision entry ‘Lipstick’ at a concert in College Green, Dublin.

A source told the Daily Star Sunday: “Jedward are one of Ireland’s biggest exports at the moment. At first the White House was dubious about letting a novelty act like Jedward perform for the President. But in the end John and Edward won them over, like they seem to do with everyone.

“They are also expected to have a quick meet and greet with Obama after the performance, which is crazy. Two years ago X Factor judge Simon Cowell branded them the worst act he had ever seen. Now they could be shaking the hand of the President of the United States of America.”

Jedward were lucky to get a slot as sources have claimed that Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg’s requested a private meeting with the President but was turned down.

The source added:

“It’s amusing that Jedward have been invited to perform for the President but the leader of a major political party and the country’s Deputy Prime Minister can’t get a private meeting.”
