JLS are touring the UK promoting National Condom Week!

X Factor boy band JLS – who are of course Aston Merrygold, JB Gill, Oritsé Williams and Marvin Humes – are currently touring the UK to promote National Condom Week.
Traveling the country in a helicopter, the lads are visiting major cities around the country to spread the safe sex message
They of course have their own brand of Durex condoms called, Just Love Safe, and the tour forms part of the charity work the boys carry out through the JLS Foundation.
Marvin told the Star, “When I was growing up I often didn’t know where to go for questions about sex.
“We want to change that and raise awareness amongst our fans…
“You shouldn’t be afraid or embarrassed to bring up the subject of safe sex. Carrying a condom should be the norm.”
The lads’ first visit was to Salford, Greater Manchester, where they visited the Brook Centre and spoke with Hannah Dawson and Rebecca Myers from the Miss Understood project, which helps women with mental health problems and other issues.
Hannah said, “Young people can get the wrong idea about sex from the internet, their friends or porn.
“They think they know all about the STIs but in reality they know very little.”
Oritsé added, “I wish I’d had places like this I could have come to.
“It feels very relaxed, like a youth club, and young people aren’t afraid to come here for whatever advice they need.”
And Aston said, “We’ve met some really amazing and inspiring people today.
“I hope we’ve helped show them that it’s OK to talk about sex openly and not be embarrassed.
“It’s up to both males and the females to carry condoms.
“We will continue to back sexual health issues and help make a difference.”
