Just the Two of Us Final with shocking results as Hannah Waterman and Marti Pellow win the trophy
Brendon Cole and Beverley Knight once again opened the evening with a spectacular performance as was their second song which was even more outstanding.  They have never failed to entertain us with their versatility, dancing and singing so it was no surprise when they made if through to the final two duos after getting two tens for one of their numbers
Â
The first shock of the evening was when Mark Butcher and Sarah Brightman were voted out as they were a favourite to win after astounding us with their very professional performances night after night. Hannah and Marti have been the weakest of the three couples throughout the competiton, earning the lowest scores and been very boring at times so it was the biggest shock of the evening when they won the series. Admittedly their second song was surprisingly beautiful and near perfect but can you win a six day series on one song?Â
Â
The evening ended with a disappointing final song from the trophy winners, Hannah and MarkÂ

It is possible to win a National competition on the basis of one or two good to excellently performed songs with a contract. So why not a celebrity charity talent show?
Progress is also deserving of recognition.

Thank you Maureen, I had thought that perhaps that is why Hannah won but as good as her winning song was it was no better than Mark’s or Brendan’s. Brendan’s progress had been every bit as impressive as Hannah’s and his performances far superior throughout. I had hoped for Brendan to win the competition but had to admit that Mark had the edge on him but not as far improvement was concerned as Mark stayed brilliant throughtout except for one performance where the cheering of the audience drowned out the music and he missed his beginning note. I really still dont understand how Hannah stayed in the competition as long as she did (while far better singers got knocked out) let alone how she came to win the series. Off-putting it is.
