Justin Bieber reclaims YouTube title from Rihanna – Justin Timberlake beats One Direction’s sales record
There are new records being set all over the music world this week people, so lets start with our favourite little Canadian star Justin Bieber.
The ‘Boyfriend’ hitmaker may have hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons of late and certainly hasn’t found favour with the world’s press since he brought his world tour to Europe, but none of the negative stories seem to have affected his mass appeal as it has been confirmed today that Biebs has reclaimed his title of the most viewed artist on YouTube.
Just a matter of weeks ago Rihanna overtook the ‘Baby’ singer as millions of fans flooded online to watch her hits, new and old but Justin has taken back the title this week.
Bieber’s VEVO page has now wracked up nearly 4 billion views, leaving Ri Ri lagging behind at just a shade over 3.4 billion.
That’s a LOT of fans and it seems that the Beliebers don’t care about scuffles with photographers, hotel incidents or bad time keeping at all!
Meanwhile, another Justin has been charging ahead with sales this week and Mr Timberlake’s comeback album has beaten One Direction’s US presales records.
The handsome singer, turned actor, turned singer again released his ‘The 20/20 Experience’ album in America on this week and Hits Daily Double claim that it pipped 1D’s presale ‘Take me Home’ figures by a few thousand copies.
The ‘Suit & Tie’ hitmaker is on track to shift over half a million copies during it’s first week of American sales and he’s even had Cheryl Cole raving about it online!
His single Mirrors has topped the UK charts for three weeks running and Timberlake’s team thanked his British fans on Sunday tweeting:
“UK we scored the hat trick! Thank you for keeping Mirrors at #1 for the 3rd week in a row! You’re the best. ”
