Katie & Peter: The Next Chapter Is Back!

This episode starts on Peter’s 35th birthday and Katie’s booked a surprise day trip to celebrate. However, we soon learn that Katie and Peter have missed their train and will not be celebrating his birthday in Paris after all. Instead, they’re stuck in Central London having spent 5 hours in a car because of some major traffic delays. The couple can’t go home because Katie’s bought Peter another surprise gift, a baby grand piano, which is being delivered that day. So, stuck in London, Katie does what she does best and heads for up-market Sloane Street and a shopping spree. Although she intends to spoil Peter, the inevitable soon happens and she ends up buying lots of things for herself; leaving Peter feeling sorry for himself whilst he waits in the car.
When they finally arrive home, Peter is chuffed with his piano. However, because of his acute sense of hearing, Harvey really takes to the musical instrument and the family sing ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star’ together.
The following day and it’s back to business for Katie and Peter, who find themselves in Central London again. The couple recorded a duets album, A Whole New World, for charity and it’s already reached gold disc status. As a result, they are presenting discs to the charities and the media mogul who backed the project. In true Katie and Peter fashion, they disagreed about the quickest way to get there so Peter drove and Katie caught the train. Unfortunately for Katie, the train was slower and she arrives half-an-hour late.
Peter invites the cameras into his studio to play a few tracks that he’s been working on for a new solo album and re-launch of his musical career. He’s already been advised that he needs to focus on an adult contemporary style of music, but what he’s producing sounds similar to his Mysterious Girl days. As a result, manager Neville calls him in for a frank discussion about the direction and what they need to achieve.
Katie and Peter manage to mix business with pleasure in Brighton when they have lunch with family over an itinerary meeting with management. The schedule is soon brushed over as the gossip turns to Katie’s sister’s confession that she’s having plastic surgery to enhance her boobs. A debate ensues and Sophie’s boyfriend, Sam, admits he doesn’t think she should have it done because she’s too young. After the discussion, the family head off for an afternoon of fun. Katie’s mum, Amy, is a keen golfer and as the weather is so bad, they opt for the indoor variety. The game soon leads to a competition between Katie and Peter and the inevitable banter ensues, until Katie makes a 6ft putt to win the hole.
Peter’s at home continuing with his fitness regime and according to his trainer this session will be “a real beasting”. In fact, the work is so hard that by the end of it, Peter’s close to vomiting. Meanwhile, in West London, Katie’s launching her new range of lingerie. The idea behind the press call is a novel one, as Katie’s chosen girls from her fan club to model the new range with her. The girls represent women of all different sizes because Katie’s underwear is for women of all sizes. The shoot goes well and the launch is a success.
Peter’s charity work continues when he’s invited to speak out against bullying by the charity NO BULL. Peter is talking alongside Tito Jackson, and both celebrities share their experiences of being bullied to the audience. After the successful event, Peter and Tito go for dinner and everyone enjoys a meal together. Peter also invites Tito and his girlfriend to dinner at their home, but he struggles to find a dish that Tito would like to eat.
The next day sees Peter back on the charity circuit as he goes back to school. He talks to an assembly of children about child abuse and bullying, in his role as ambassador for the NSPCC. Peter can’t help but get the kids to say “Good Morning Mr Andre” as he secretly admits he’d like to be a teacher. Meanwhile, Katie’s doing another photo shoot with a domestic goddess theme which seems ironic when Katie explains how she makes an apple crumble. Peter’s waiting for the shoot to finish at their management’s office and the green eyed monster soon pops out when he realises he’s seriously lacking in endorsements compared to his wife.
