Its Katie’s 30th birthday and all her friends and family are organising a big surprise. Katie knows nothing about the plans and the episode begins with manager Claire giving Peter a list of instructions to tell Katie about what she needs to bring. But Katie doesn’t like being told what to bring and vows that if no one tells her what is happening she won’t be going.

The next scene is the morning of her birthday surprise and unlike Katie she is dressed and ready to go – and full of questions for Peter about where they might be going. She is out in the garden playing with the kids when she hears a helicopter noise above her, and she expects some nosey members of the press. But when the helicopter lands in her garden she realises this is the beginning of the surprise. She says goodbye to the kids and she’s off in the helicopter. Then the guessing game of where they are going begins. Eventually, when they are flying over the grounds of an incredible hotel north of London she guesses that is where they are going – she is right.

When she lands, all her closest friends and family are waiting for her and she is delighted to see them all and they joke about how they have managed to keep everything a surprise. Manager Claire gives everyone a rundown of the weekend’s itinerary and tells them that the theme of the weekend will be girls vs boys – much to everyone’s delight. Then Katie is taken to her exclusive hotel suite and the whole room has been decorated and is full of saucy presents.

Katie and Peter return to the hotel lobby and they are straight off to try their hand at clay pigeon shooting. The boys and the girls competition is ramped up and everyone is very excited as they race the golf buggies across the hotel lawn. The girls do a huddle and are taunting the boys. The boys respond in the only way they know how – by mooning the girls. The clay pigeon shooting begins and there is lots of banter – Katie’s friend and former model Jamelia and Peter are joking around having a play fight when Jamelia accidentally smacks Peter in the face giving him a fat lip – first blood has been drawn! After all the shooting the results are gathered and everyone is told the winners will be announced at dinner later.

The next scene sees Katie and some of her female friends relaxing in the hotel spa having various treatments and massages. Then Katie returns to her room where Peter is sleeping and they laugh about some of the sex toys that have been left in their room and Peter is hopeful that some of them might get used tonight. They start to get ready for the evening but it takes Katie a long time to get dressed and made up and by the time she is ready Katie is in a bad mood as she is late and everyone has been hassling her. But when she eventually gets downstairs, she is again pleased to see all her friends and family and once the cocktail shakers start mixing up the drinks the party really gets started. After some photos, Katie starts to open all her presents and despite moaning to her mum that she’s bought her “another frame” she is pleasantly surprised to see that her mum Amy has in fact bought her a family tree.

They enter the dining room and enjoy a sumptuous 5 course meal with all of Katie’s favourite things. Over dinner Katie embarrasses Peter by telling a story of when she made him up, and also when he got rather excited during a massage. After dinner Katie has had enough of being dressed up so she goes off to put her pyjamas on. Then everyone plays pass the parcel but with a difference and there are some interesting truth or dares. Katie cuts the cake and then, exhausted, she goes to bed early, and Peter soon follows.

The next day the “boys v girls” theme continues as after breakfast Katie and Peter go pony racing and are cheered on by everyone around them. The weekend ends with Katie and Peter flying back in a helicopter to their home, and on the way back they reminisce about the last few months and all the exciting things they have done.
