Katie Price’s mum says rape claim isn’t a lie

Katie Price’s mum has jumped to her defence and denied rumours that her recent rape claims are a stunt.
According to The People, Price’s mum Amy said: “I’ve known about it for years and years and years. Of course it has caused heartache. It is a hard decision to know what to do but this is no publicity stunt.
“My daughter is so angry that people would think otherwise.”
Amy claimed that hr daughter became “withdrawn” and “depressed” after the rape, saying: “We’ve had difficult things in life and Katie has as well but you cope with it.”
She continued: “My gut instinct at the time was perhaps she should go to the police, but at the time would people have believed her? I don’t think so. It is exactly what is happening now.
“We got over it by me being a loving mum. My heart is saying I want to say so much but I have Katie’s feelings to think about. We all have big burdens to bear but it has been so difficult. Life is a rollercoaster and it can be so cruel.”
“Once again, I want to say this is no PR stunt,” she said. “What would be the point of doing something like that?”
