Louis Tomlinson is pretty fast on his feet and yesterday he managed to impress bosses at Doncaster Rovers with his nifty footwork on the football pitch.
The One Direction star had dreams of a soccer career when he was younger and now he’s getting to live out his dreams. Tonight the Little Things singer will make his debut for his home team after signing a non-contract deal last summer.
Tickets for the home game against Rotherham went on sale last month and it’s expected that 4,000 Directioners will show up tonight, so though Louis is technically a reserve, there’s no doubt that he’ll get off the bench to show off his skills at some point.
Louis wore a team training shirt, some long black sports bottoms and white football boots when he trained yesterday, though he strangely teamed the outfit up with a grey beanie. The hat will not be allowed on the pitch this evening.
Meanwhile One Direction have announced that they’re backing yet another charitable venture.
Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis and Harry Styles have thrown their weight and celebrity behind the ISPCC (Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) Shield Campaign.
The campaign launched on Monday and will run right through next month and it will be publicising it’s ‘Shield My School’ Anti-Bullying toolkit for schools and organisations around the country. Blue ‘shield’ pins will also be on sale in various retail outlets in Ireland.
The charity’s official Twitter page congratulated the boys on their recent success at The Brit Awards yesterday and tweeted:
“@onedirection Congrats on your great success @ the Brits.Delighted that you have supported our #ISPCCShield Campaign.”
Niall Horan asked his millions of followers to support the band by getting behind the campaign and posted:
“Please support! It’s very important!”
