Louis Walsh has lashed out at his former X Factor colleague Cheryl and insisted that she brought her ‘misery’ to the ITV show.
The Irish star was never a big fan of Cheryl and seemingly couldn’t understand why Simon Cowell hired her. The pair got off to a bad start when Walsh managed Girls Aloud after Pop Idol The Rivals and it all went downhill from there.
Louis and Cheryl worked together last year on the X Factor but Walsh didn’t enjoy the experience. He thinks the brunette beauty brought her marital issues to work with her and insists that it affected everyone around them. He told Event magazine: “I think she was in a bad place over the last two years. And she brought her misery to The X Factor.”
However Louis thinks things could be very different now for the style queen now that she has hooked up with One Direction star Liam Payne.
The former Westlife boss said: “Can I be honest with you about Cheryl? I think Liam and Cheryl are going to work… He’s a nice guy and he’s in love with her. He’ll make her happy.”
Cheryl has been pursuing a solo career for a while, but her last album didn’t perform well in the charts.
Louis thinks she needs better material and wonders if Liam, the One Direction songwriter, could help with that. He added:
“She’s no Mariah Carey or Celine Dion but I’d put her voice in there along with Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears or Katy Perry.
“She just needs the right songs. Maybe Liam can write her some. He’s a good songwriter.”
Do you think Cheryl and Liam can last? The latest rumour is that the pair are expecting their first baby. Leave your comments below…..
