The production team behind the hit E4 reality show, Made in Chelsea, have denied reports that work is underway to make a Manchester rival show for it.

We reported earlier this week that Made In Manchester, or Monkey Kingdom as it was to be called, was already in the casting stages and that the team behind its Chelsea counterparts had already lined up Brooke Vincent and Strictly Come Dancing and Waterloo Road star, Chelsee Healey, to appear in it.

However, despite this speculation, Monkey Kingdom has told Manchester Confidential when asked if it was involved in such a project: “We are not.”

Also supporting this denial (kind of) is Manchester designer, Merabi, who was also rumoured to be taking part in the show, who commented: “It’s not true. There is something being discussed at the moment but it’s not Made in Manchester and nothing has been finalised or agreed yet.

“Chelsee read the rumours in the paper just like everyone else and rang me to ask me what it was all about. She did say she would love to do it if it were real.”

Also adamantly denying the rumours are Healey and Vincent’s shared casting representatives Laine Management, who admitted they had not even heard of such a show!

What a shame, we were really looking forward to that!!!!
