Blimey, Made In Chelsea‘s Spencer Matthews gets another headline, only this time he has decided that hunting down one female at a time is far too easy, and has instead signed up to take on a whole tribe in this years The Bachelor!

Matthews, who recently got back together with Louise Thompson, his Made In Chelsea ex girlfriend, but very much current girlfriend of his best friend, Jamie Lang at the time, after a recent trip to Dubai with the MIC gang, will reportedly be the front man in the new series set to hit our screens later this year.

Thompson, who was dating Matthews best friend, Lang, at the time, received an influx of hate mail, and even death threats when reports of what had gone on reached the UK.

When the pair returned from their trip, they were met by a heartbroken Lang on the doorstep, begging for clarification of the subject, which he pretty much got, but despite all this, Matthews repeatedly told anyone who would listen that this was the real deal and they would stick by each other throughout this media hate campaign.

That is until Channel 5 came-a-knocking…..

The nation fell slightly in love with The Bachelor when it hit our screens last year, following Rugby legend, Gavin Henson audition 15 wannabe girlfriends after being cruelly dumped by his long time love, and mother of his two kids, Welsh singing sensation, Charlotte Church.

Now the show is set to return to our screens, according to The Daily Mirror’s 3am,  with Spencer in the hot seat, although I don’t know if he will have the same sort of public reaction where they are all rooting for a happy ever after for this home-wrecking love rat!

Speaking of the move, Matthews commented:”I feel flattered to have been put forward to be this year’s Bachelor,”

“The concept surrounding the show is a great one and will certainly make for an interesting adventure at this point in my life,” he added.

“After much consideration, I truly believe that the time is right to look for, and hopefully find during the process of this series, someone with whom I can share a loving and meaningful relationship.”

We wonder just what Louise made of this!

The show will follow Spencer as he referees a group of girls all competing for his attention, taking them all individually on dates before finally choosing “the one” he wants to be with (which, knowing Spencer, may well be the married mum of two on the production team!)
