Marco Pierre White’s American Show Axed
Marco Pierre White thought he was going to be as popular in America as Gordon Ramsay or Simon Cowell, unfortunately it doesn’t look like things are going to plan.
Marco launched a new reality TV show ‘Chopping Block’ on US TV network NBC just three weeks ago. The show performed so badly that it has been cancelled and will be replaced in the schedule by repeats of Law and Order: Criminal Intent.
This must irk for Pierre White especially after Fox announced this week that it was ordering new series of both Gordon Ramsays shows Hell’s Kitchen USA and Kitchen Nightmares USA.

First off, the show is being continued at present. NBC got a lot of negative feedback from viewers because of the abrupt cancellation.
Secondly, the scheduling really was a set up in that the show was slotted in prime time opposite American Idol. If Hell’s Kitchen US had been scheduled in prime time opposite one of the most popular shows on TV instead of being slotted for the summer schedule with little competition, I doubt that HK would have done any better.
By the way, Hell’s Kitchen US has turned into just another cartoon on the Fox channel. The ‘professional’ chefs on that program don’t have any where near the talent that the celebs on this past presentation of HK UK had (the UK program is posted on utube)
I hope that Mr. White will reconsider his decision re: no more involvement in TV. He has many fans here who would like to see him involved in more series.
