Miss World organisers have won a legal battle, forcing Channel 4 to change the name of their show, ‘Mr Miss World‘ to Mr Miss Pageant.

An announcement will be made just before tonight’s 10pm program, although the decision has come too late for the listings magazines.

Julia Morley, executive chairman of Miss World Ltd, said, “The Miss World name is a long-standing registered trade mark and Miss World Ltd has built up the reputation and recognition of the name over many years.

“Miss World Ltd will continue to protect its trademarks against unauthorised use.”

A Channel 4 spokeswoman said: “Following an injunction from Miss World Ltd regarding a trademark infringement against the title of the documentary, Mr Miss World, Channel 4 can confirm we have complied with the terms of the court and the title has now changed to Mr Miss Pageant.”

Don’t they say any publicity is good publicity? I think that Miss World have taken this one a bit too far!
