MTV’s Greatest Superstars
MTV is on the hunt for the greatest global superstar in a special event where viewers can vote for their Greatest Superstar.
MTV’s history has seen the rise of some of the greatest talent the world has seen, from Madonna to Metallica, the Kings of Leon to Kanye West and Beyonce to Britney, and not forgetting the late, great King of Pop – Michael Jackson.
Who has been the biggest act to find global fame, chart success and fan worship since 1981? The year that saw the demise of Punk, the birth of New Romanticism, the rise of the CD, the death of Bob Marley and John Lennon’s posthumously-released classic, ‘Imagine’. It was also the year a new musical revolution rocked the planet – THE LAUNCH OF MTV!
MTV Base, Hits, Two, Dance, VH1 and VH1 Classic will each reveal a shortlist of 10 artists in special celebrity hosted shows then each channels’ choices will be pitted against each other in an online vote for viewers to choose their ultimate favourite. Hosts of the shows include Zane Lowe, Scott Mills and Kim Wilde, each one leading us through some of the most stellar acts on the globe.
Voting goes live from 18th July at www.mtv.co.uk/greatestsuperstars and the results will be shown on MTV in August.
