X Factor 2012: Nicole Scherzinger is moving to London, but not with Lewis Hamilton!

Despite being named as the fourth X Factor judge (for this year at least) and planning to move to London, American singer, Nicole Scherzinger says that she will actually have less time to spend with her boyfriend, British F1 driver, Lewis Hamilton, especially as she has no plans for him to live with her!

The former X Factor USA judge, who was sacked after only one season, is already knee-deep in auditions for this years show as she travels the country listening to hopefuls try out on arena stages hoping to get through to the Live Finals which begin in October.

And according to the sun newspaper today, Scherzinger, who replaced Cheryl Cole on the US version of the show after Chezza was in the hot seat for only a few weeks, is planning to relocate to London when the live finals arrive, but not with her F1 champion boyfriend, Lewis Hamilton.

According to the paper, the singer has claimed that the timing of the live shows will clash with Hamilton’s schedule as he travels the world for this season’s F1 competition, meaning that the pair, who recently took a break from their long-term relationship, have no intention of living together all the time she is over here.

When asked about the possibility, Scherzinger, who can often be seen cheering on Hamilton at most of his races, commented: “No.  I’m actually going to spend less time with Lewis. I believe the X Factor shows are going to be running the same time as his races.

“But I’ll juggle things. I think everything will work out the way it’s supposed to. It’ll be OK.”

Scherzinger has taken the X Factor judging seat of fellow American singer, Kelly Rowland, who was showered with criticism during her one series on the show for constantly flying to and from the states, which many felt left her acts somewhat neglected.  However, Scherzinger has promised that the same will not happen to her as she intends to be fully focussed on the job at hand, saying:: “The most important thing is that we commit our time to our contestants and we mentor them. I know that’s what I am going to do. I’m doing the show for the contestants and for the love of what I do.”

“I’m looking forward to a long stay in the UK. It’ll be great, it’s like my second home. Every time I’ve been here in the past I have been crazy busy with work. But to have some downtime and live here, check out the restaurants and stuff, it’s exciting.”

Scherzinger’s appointment on the show comes after former X Factor judge, Dannii Minogue, turned down the offer of her old job back as she wanted to focus on her family, and more importantly her fragile relationship with Australian model, Kris Smith, with whom she split with after details of her affair with X Factor puppeteer, Simon Cowell, were revealed in his tell-all biography, Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life Of Simon Cowell, penned by Tom Bower.

This left the show in a state of panic (mainly as we all thought at one point that Geri Halliwell would get the job) and a string of fill in guest judges were drafted in to help with the audition stages which started a few weeks ago.

Scherzinger, who had previously filled in as a guest judge in 2010 when Cheryl Cole had Malaria and Dannii Minogue was on maternity leave, was one of the guest judges helping out in the London O2 auditions, and impressed Cowell (the same Cowell who sacked her from the X Factor USA) so much that he offered her the permanent job, along with a £750,000 salary!

She joins the three remaining judges from last years series, N-Dubz singer, Tulisa Contostavlos, head judge and Take That front man, Gary Barlow and X Factor mascot, Louis Walsh.  Speaking of her new role, Scherzinger said: “I’m excited, this is a new experience. It all came so fast, I was just asked a couple of weeks ago when guest-judging at auditions in London.”

“I have a lot of love for Louis. He welcomed me on the show. He’s always been wonderful to me.”

“And I was pleasantly surprised by Gary and Tulisa. I was very impressed with Gary.”

On her move to the Uk, Scherzinger commented how Hamilton had not been particularly helpful in helping her prepare to climatise, saying: “I think I’m still giving Lewis tips on surviving the Brits!”

When asked how she thinks she will cope with the notoriously bad British  weather, Scherzinger added:“I love the weather here. Today the sun has come out for us — but I’m going to be walking out with an umbrella, raincoat and some boots on!”

The former Pussycat Doll then went on to discuss her short time on the X Factor USA, claiming that the decision to terminate her contract after only one season was a mutual one, but insist that the UK show will have her full devotion, saying:“My experience of 15 years in this industry gives me confidence and knowledge. I know that I am a hard worker and I will put my heart and soul into this show as I did in the US. All I can do is be honest to my heart, give it all I’ve got and bring out the best I can in the artists.”

Denying claims that she had her eyes set on Cole’s job before being appointed, the singer said: “If believing in yourself is calculating, I guess that’s me. But I was raised properly, never to step on anyone’s toes. Simon asked me to fill in for that job and it was an honour for me because of the experience I have in my professional life. I’m passionate about what I do. I was there to be a mentor.”

On the subject of her relationship with  Cowell, Scherzinger added:“Simon and I have a great relationship. He didn’t axe me. I was only meant to do the one season — and now the UK has me.

“It’s perfect. Now the UK will get all of me — that’s why Simon brought me here.

“I’ve signed up for one series but, who knows, maybe they will kick me out!”
