One Direction 2012: Ed Sheeran will let 1D record two of his unreleased singles!

As if the One Direction boys don’t already have enough on their plates, now they are going to record two previously unreleased singles written by Brit hit sensation, Ed Sheeran!

Sheeran, the genius behind chart breaking hits such as A Team, will join Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Liam Payne in the studio this summer to produce the two singles he has agreed to let them release.

According to the Daily Star newspaper, Sheeran wrote the two singles as a teenager.

“I wrote a couple of songs when I was 17 that One Direction want for their next album,” he told the paper.

“I’m going into the studio in August to produce the tracks for them.

“I won’t feature on the tracks though,” he added. “There’s definitely a divide in genre.”

This bold move may be part of his new ‘more mature’ image, as Sheeran has stated that his new album will have a more grown up feel to it than his debut album, +, which broke records when it entered the Billboard charts at number five.

Meanwhile, One Direction are currently touring the States after taking the country by storm earlier this year.

Since the group, manufactured by Simon Cowell for the 2010 X Factor, in which they came third, made the leap across the pond to the US, a One Direction fever has hit the teenage girls over there in a way that mimics the Beatle mania that swept the nation back in the 60′s.

They have found themselves guest appearing on numerous TV shows over there, as well as being approached to make their own show and film.
