One Direction’s Niall Horan bumped into his old friend, and former X Factor competitor, Alexandra Burke at Virgin Media V Festival last weekend, and it wasn’t long till they were back to their old playful ways, posing as Olympic athletes for the camera!

In the pictures, which they posted on social networking site, Twitter, the pair could be seen posing with their arms raised in an ‘M’ sign above their heads in honour of Mo Farah, as well as raising their hands to the sky a la Usain Bolt.

Alexandra tweeted the picture along with the caption: “Lol @Niallofficial …. !!”

She then posted another tweet on the Monday after, simply saying this about her favourite member of One Direction, who she beat in the X Factor in 2009,

She tweeted: “So good seeing ma boy yesterday @Niallofficial x”

Don’t they look good together?

With all the recent rumours over who Niall is meant to be seeing, we wonder how this cute coupling may have been overlooked.

Horan was recently linked to all sorts of people including Disney Channel princess, Debby Ryan, who stars in the teen show Jessie, and even TOWIE’s Lucy Mecklenburgh!

But both stories were denied, with Debby Ryan even admitting she didn’t really know who the boy band member was.

Speaking to American Idol presenter and radio DJ Ryan Seacrest, Debby said:

“I’ve never met Niall. I actually don’t know much about him other than that he’s in that band.”

She added: “I think there could be worse rumours, but I’m not dating him.”
