You might be forgiven for thinking that it would be teenaged girls who hanker after a piece of the One Direction lads, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik…

And indeed, they do, however, in an interview with the Daily Star, the lads have revealed that it’s their girl fans’ mothers who in fact come on to them with the most vigour!

And according to Harry, the reason for that is because it is of course common knowledge that he dated Xtra Factor host Caroline Flack, who’s 14 years older than him.

Harry said, “The fans can sometimes get very graphic and there are a few mums that hit on us.”

Zayn added, “Mums are more confident than their daughters and so they will go the extra mile to grab you and suggest things…”

And Louis said, “Ask Harry – they just go for it. They will grab and pinch and it gets quite tricky.”

And finally, Liam said, “The mums are fearless.”

The paper adds, “The lads say they were fighting off older women on their recent US tour and expect to do the same at UK gigs later this year.”

However, there were of course a few reports in the media recently that X Factor guru – and head of SyCo Records, to whom 1D are signed – Simon Cowell has slapped a “sex ban” on the boys.

But of that, Louis said, “It was ridiculous. Do they think someone stands over us?”
