We reported earlier that One Direction star Niall Horan was back in Britain having had surgery on his knee in America, but it seems not everyone is glad to see him…
A drama on Twitter kicked off when it was first reported that Niall had had the surgery – he’s had a problem with his knee since childhood – as some One Direction fans seem to believe he should’ve informed them of the plan to have the operation, and to keep them informed of his whereabouts.
After dozens of angry tweets claiming Niall had “lied” about having the surgery, one sick troll tweeted, “Niall lied to us, he should of died in surgery. im gonna stop being a Directioner.”
Furious messages of hate were then directed at the person in question, and though we’d never condone trolling or posting abuse online, the anger of sane and reasonable 1D fans was, on this occasion, completely understandable.
Saying someone should “die” because they chose not to discuss private medical matters on Twitter is just plain ridiculous and wrong.
Which was the opinion of @1DUpdates_World who tweted, “Why is everyone making a big deal over the fact Niall ‘lied’ to us about where he is.
“He’s just had surgery, he wants privacy and rest!”
Other account holders added, “People are stupid and sometimes cant accept the fact Niall is hurt so they make a lie hoping its true.”
Another wrote, “wow wtf?you should be don’t talk like that.. He s not lied, Nialls need have privacy!”
Niall’s band mate Liam Payne has experienced the wrath of some fans this week too, given that he refused to stop and have his picture taken with a Directioner, which sparked abuse towards him.
Here’s what he had to say in reply, and about the whole balcony incident…
Let us know what you think about the fact that Niall didn’t tell fans he was having surgery, but for now, here’s a look at a recent interview with the Irish singer…
