Matthew Morrison has his heart set on a brand new group of guest stars for the new season of Glee and we think fans around the world will approve.
The hit singer, performer and Broadway actor is always on the lookout for celebs for cameo roles on the hit Fox musical and he has his sights firmly trained on Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles for the next run.
It’s been confirmed that the next season of Glee will be the last, but an appearance from One Direction certainly would take the sting out of the tail of that news and Matthew thinks they would be a perfect fit for the show’s cast and audience.
Chatting with The Daily Star Morrison said:
“They are not much older than high school age so we could have them as students. And I am sure the younger female cast members wouldn’t object to their presence either.”
He revealed that he and Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester) are keen to have Simon Cowell on before the show ends too, so may suggest that he and the boys work together in a band / manager scenario when filming starts later this year.
Matt is already excited about the chemistry and battle of wills that would of course take place between the caustic tongued Brit and the quick witted cheerleading coach.
Of course One Direction have enjoyed some exposure on Glee before, with the cast performing two of their tunes – “What Makes You Beautiful” and “Live While We’re Young” – in previous episodes.
It feels like forever since we last visited McKinley High but fear not Glee fans, the show will finally return from its midseason hiatus on Tuesday, February 25 in the US and later that week in the UK.
If One Direction do sign up for a cameo, they’ll be in great company and the show has welcomed some rather A list stars to it’s set previously.
