Earlier this morning, we reported that One Direction singer Niall Horan had been spotted arriving at a London airport having returned from the States where he underwent surgery on his knee.
The troublesome joint has caused problems for the Irish singer since childhood, so no doubt he was glad to get it sorted out…
However, as we also reported, one sick ‘fan’ on Twitter commented that because he didn’t inform his fans of the planned surgery, he had “lied” and therefore, “should have died during surgery.”
The extreme and vile post was rapidly met with fury from Directioners, who tried to reason that Niall’s medical issues are his own business and not anyone else’s.
And just now, Niall has taken to Twitter to address the issue himself, writing, “Hey guys I know most of you have seen those pics today!
“Yes I’ve had major knee surgery , a much larger surgery than first anticipated…
“But i would like to tell u , it was a complete success ! Considering the scale of it!”
He added, “So all I ask of you guys is that you would respect my Privacy as I try to recover and get for the where we are tour!” (sic)
And when a fan pointed out that some fans think he did in fact ‘lie’ about his whereabouts, Niall replied, “I did! As It was a very important time for me ,and I didn’t want to have fans knowing my whereabouts Needed privacy obviously”
One fan wisely advised Niall, “just rest and stop worrying we love you no matter what :)”
Another wrote, “of course we would respect it, all the best for you duhh love ya babe x”
However, his band mate Liam Payne hasn’t enjoyed such a positive response after it was claimed he’d refused to stop and have his picture taken with a fan. Nor did his ledge walking antics go down well!
Here’s what he had to say on Twitter about both incidents…
Do you think it’s time everyone just left the 1D lads alone to have at least a modicum of privacy when they’re either out and about or at home?
Let us know, but for now, here’s a reminder of Niall’s troubles with his knee…
