Olly Murs has come under attack on social media, after he pulled out of a charity event and was spotted at a sporting event just hours later.
The X Factor star was supposed to perform for a crowd of 100,000 people at Manchester’s Team GB heroes parade. However he cancelled at the last minute and cited extenuating circumstances”.
Fans are furious that he let them down and left organisers in the lurch, yet only a few hours later he was spotted at a football match, while the parade was taking place up north.
The Heart Skips A Beat hitmaker was seen cheering Manchester United on at Anfield with a crowd of friends, while he fans waited to see who bosses would put on as his replacement.
One Twitter user shared a picture of Murs in the crowd on social media and blasted the handsome star saying: “He couldn’t make the Olympic Parade in Manchester but he made the Liverpool Man Utd last night.”
Olly’s spokesperson insisted that he was always going to attend the match, because it was so close to the Olympic event. They went on to add that his attendance has ‘nothing to do with the reason he didn’t perform.’
Thankfully for event organisers, The Kaiser Chiefs stepped in at the last minute and replaced Olly and apparently put on a really decent show.
This week had been going so well for Murs and there was a great reaction yesterday to news that he would be appearing, alongside his pal Niall Horan, on Stand Up To Cancer’s Celebrity Gogglebox edition.
