Andrew Lloyd Webber is leaving the BBC and bringing his search for a star to ITV1 and insiders say the new show will have more than a hint of the X Factor about it.
It was revealed earlier this month that the musical genius would be switching channels this summer and would be looking for an actor and singer to take on the lead role in his hit musical ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, one with a rock edge to his voice.

The second episode of BBC One’s The Magicians aired on Saturday, 14th January, with another fantastic and dazzling show, presented by Darren McMullen.
The programme saw Pete Firman joined by Countryfile presenter Julia Bradbury. During the live show the pair took the famous trick of sawing a lady in half to a new level as Julia had to climb through the ferocious blades of an industrial fan smothered in Firmanite cream (‘It’s the little squirt that prevents hurt’) to help protect her from the terrifying appliance. Miraculously Julia was still in one piece at the end of the trick! Their location for their grand illusion was London’s Battersea Park as Pete’s one-man-band paled in comparison to a magically conjured brass band which played a song chosen by an onlooker.

Day 9 update:
8:59am
Following last night’s special party, the house is slowly waking up. Gareth tells housemates: “I can’t remember much about last night.” In the gym, Michael comments: “I don’t think that Tash is gonna be up any time soon.” The twins are also talking about Natasha. They tell some of the housemates how “smashed” Natasha was last night when she pleaded for more alcohol in the diary room. They mimic her saying “I’ll do anything.” Natasha joins Nicola and Natalie in the garden and Natalie says she’ll be “gutted,” that one of them will be leaving tonight. Nicola says that she will be “fine” if she leaves as she will get to see her husband and children. “If not, I’ll get to have a few more belly laughs,” she adds. Natasha reflects on her behaviour the previous night and tells them, “I can’t help my actions.” “You gotta be you,” Natalie empathises.

ITV bosses were silly enough to hire a grade 2 listed mansion for a celebratory party for their dating show Take Me Out recently and we’d say they are probably regretting it now.
90 stars of the show turned up and inflicted thousands of pounds worth of damage to the £4.5 million property, as they got drunk and ran amok around the house.

Ben Flajnik eliminated two ladies on last night’s episode of The Bachelor.
But before sending any of the beauties home, the 29 year old hunk certainly seemed to be getting to know the girls better and settling into his role as chooser of the ladies as he locked lips with a whopping four women in one show.

Week two sees the contestants take part in a sand challenge. The team that wins the challenge is granted immunity at the all-important weekly weigh-in. The team eliminated from the challenge first, face a disadvantage at the weigh in, affecting their overall percentage weight loss.
At the beginning of the week the contestants visit The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences, a faculty within The University of Birmingham. Here, they go through a series of health tests and are informed, as a result of their past habits, of their biological ages. ‘These contestants need some cold hard facts about their health’ warns trainer Richard Callender. This is a difficult moment for all of the contestants, particularly as one of them is told – as the situation currently stands – they may have only 15 years left to live.
