Tough Gig follows one of the six comics as they are plucked from their day-to-day lives and totally immersed into a new world, where they will live, work, sleep and socialise. The series will also offer an insight into some of the most fascinating and often unknown communities flourishing in our midst.

This week sees Patrick Kielty (presenter of hit shows including Fame Academy and Love Island) getting down with a group of British rappers to try to find out what makes them tick. From hanging out at the pirate radio station, to 8 Mile style MC battles, he’s deep in ‘the hood’. At the end of the week, Patrick’s got to perform a stand-up gig that’ll make his new crew laugh.

The show climaxes with the comedian’s moment of truth: the stand-up performance. After a week of painstaking research, how will Patrick’s new material go down? Has he understood his adopted community? Will Patrick succeed?
