Peter Andre has confirmed that he has split from Elen Rivas but insisted that they will always be friends.

The ‘Behind Closed Doors’ singer met and allegedly started dating the former WAG before Christmas, though they didn’t go public with their relationship until a few weeks before she was due to make her Dancing On Ice debut…..that alone made a lot of people suspicious.

Their joint manager Claire Powell admitted that they had broken up to a Sunday tabloid last weekend and confirming the news, Andre wrote in his new! magazine column:

“I did adore Elen, she is so stunning and I know we’ll remain good friends.

“But the fact is I just didn’t get the chance to see her in the end. It’s not fair for me to ask her to put up with me being on the road for weeks at a time.”

The supposed lovebirds were rarely photographed together, or seen in each other’s company, prompting many haters to claim that the whole romance was just a pr stunt.

However, Pete denied the reports and added:

“I am hurt that some people have suggested our relationship wasn’t real. I would never be part of something like that.

“We never did any work together because we didn’t want people thinking this was ever about publicity.”
