In this episode the nine remaining designers are asked to create the perfect dress to wear to the races for this week’s guest judge, Lady Isabella Hervey.

For inspiration they head to the Newmarket Races where the designers get their claws into the race day clothes, as well as having a flutter on the horses. Whilst there, they meet jockey Frankie Dettori and his wife Catherine who tells the designers what she looks for in a race day outfit.

Back at the studio mentor Ben De Lisi informs the designers that this week they will be working in teams of three and chooses the head designer for each team. They in turn choose a fabric buyer and an accessory buyer. Much friction follows and the concept of team spirit bolts.

The clock is ticking and by the end of this episode one more designer will have been put out to pasture.

Judging the designs this week is Julien MacDonald, Grazia’s Melanie Rickey and guest judge Lady Isabella Hervey.

Each week the budding designers face elimination based on how they meet the challenges set for them by the panel until only three remain. The three finalists will each showcase full lines on the catwalk and the winning designer’s garments will be photographed for top women’s magazine Grazia and will also receive the seed money to help them launch their own line.
