<description>my daughter got me watching this programn, as she went to live in australia in february i have been making notes and emailing them on to her, she graduated from the London College of Fashion and Design about two years ago and we had both been really enjoying the programn. Abbie has been fortunate working on Breaking and Entry, The Other Bolyn Girl,(excuse spelling), The Dutchess, Silent Whitness, The History Boys, and Derailed, then she got some work on an advertising shoot for an airline down in Exeter, she even managed a day on the Woody Allen film being shot in London. Abbie was really shocked to hear the director of Breaking and Entry had died, she said it was one of her jobs to supply him with heated lavender scalves during filming, if I remember right they spent some nights working around Kings Cross Station, and it was freezing.
Somehow she also spent a year in Australia, where she met Scot, now shes has gone back to make her own impresion there, and has been doing some work as a costume assistant on a Spielburg project called A Band of Brothers, 104 degrees in a disused quarry, and has been fortunate to get a couple of days last week on a film called The Knowing with Nicholas Cage, she is living in Melbourne, and has been very fortunate.
Abbie wanted to do fashion origionally, but it is such a difficult field to work in. It was wonderful to see your project focusing on the designers, and I wish them all well. Abbie thought Jasper would win, and his designs were without doubt quite stunning, with the overall look, and the fabulous fabrics, and detail.
Viv had an incredible jouney, women will relate well to her, and strive to take up their own personal dreams. Well done Viv, you are very talented, and you worked so hard.
Chelsey was really interesting, and although she gave so much of herself, I feel that we were only seeing a small fragment of what this young girl has to offer, surely her ideas will &quot;out,&quot;and her future must be assured as a designer? What a thoughtful individual you are Kate.
Ross I couldnt help liking, have we another Vivian Westward in the making? He is an origional, with so much to bring forth he needs someone to make the journey with, what an interesting man
As I had nt been watching for long I have missed a good deal of the programn, abbie looked you up last week on the internet, and found pictures of the airline uniforms, thats why I m here, but I could nt find any pictures, I would like to mention Ben, I thought that white shirt was amazing, so I hope he keeps designing, surely the program will only serve to encourage talent?
I enjoyed the judges comments, and how well they presented themselves, it showed resoect for the young competitors.
Kelly came over as a very responsible individual, and her family must be very proud of her. Lets have the next programn on Channel 4 or ITV or the like with the confusion of digi tv, and the spiralling cost of living, sky is going to have to be one of my financial cut backs I m afraid.
Speaking of cost, how were those final costumes financed? Jaspers must have cost a small fortune ,and it did have me wondering if everyone was offered the same funding?
Many thanks again for some excellent entertainment, and good luck for the future, you are making a real difference, and giving talent hope, and opportunity.
