    Rick……..
You have made the biggest mistake of your career!
Surely before comitting to the program you must have been aware of your Wife’s possible award??
    Ouch!
Leaving Sian like that is unforgiveable.
She has a voice waiting to be heard.
I hope Your Wife’s possible award is worth the end of your singing career. How will the public trust you from now on.I really don’t know. You may have overcome your sudden departure befor a Tour of the States in the late 80’s but to do it again……

I have to agree Graham. Lets hope his wife is earning a lot of money, as i don’t see any great career revivals on the cards for Rick!

well, Rick Astley, what a total meanie, never mind his career (what career) !!! But well done to Sian who is rising above it, and well done to Russel Watson for stepping in. Go Sian, just be your cute self and enjoy the fun of it, it does look fun! Must be one heck of a green room!
I am getting goosebumps watching this, it’s all so very touching!

I cannot believe three posts knocking Rick for his decision to leave this show. This was not 10 days before the start, his website shows he announced it on the 11th Feb - a few days after oscar nominations and with plenty of time to recast.
Shouldn’t he be applauded for supporting his wifes career and choosing to be by her side?
The alternative is to sing with a bunch of has beens and wannabees in a show that should be called Strictly Come Singing.
The people who should be embarrassed here are the BBC who did not give the real explanation on last nights show and who made it sound as though he let Sian down at the last minute, which makes it look like Russell Watson was a hurriedly chosen stand in. They must have had Russell (and others) on standby like they do for all shows (big brother etc…)

Alexander O’Neal and Jocelyn Brown are SO not has beens!! Bet they could teach you a thing or two about singing! If it’s that bad, change channels or turn the tv off and GET A LIFE!!

Ok Karen… so you did pick the two that are great talents (Alex and Jocelyn) but look at most of the rest …. S Club Seven, ABC, Curtis Stigers ..its great that they are up for it (Martin Fry and Curtis Stigers were so much better doing their duet at the end of tongihts show than either of them have been in the main show).
I cannot believe that Jocelyn Brown has gone… shame on the voters throwing them out and leaving Penny Smith and Curtis Stigers in.
don’t take everything so personally, I am mostly enjoying this show…. looking forward to next Thursdays installment.

Love Russell Watson but thought that the other two should have won - That Mark could sing!

  9. Law says:

You’re all having a laugh aren’t you? Rick did himself a big favour by staying well clear of Sian, she was an embarrassment from start to finish. The only way that Russell ‘don’t you all love me as much as I love my arrogant self’ probably agreed to do it was if it was rigged for him to win!! Sian never won it with her catawalling that’s for sure. The final should have been between Mark and Chris everyone knows it and everyone knows who should have won=complete farce!!.

I think Sian and Russell deserved to win. They were brill. I know shows like Just The Two Of Us and Dancing on Ice are about how good the couples are but you have to take in account the partnership and how much you like the couple. You cannot ignore the chemistry that went on between Sian & Russell. Audiences warm to them they are both attractive and have loveable characters I know I would like to have both of them as best friends. You seem to see the real side of them and they seem real not fake like some celebrities.
