Rihanna to perform on American Idol final

Pop sensation Rihanna has been confirmed to perform on the American Idol final, it has been revealed.

Fox, the broadcasters behind the hit talent show, released a statement last night confirming that the Uberella-ella-ella singer will perform her new single, Where Have You Been, during the season finale on May 23rd.
It had been rumoured that producers of the show were in talks with the Bajan beauty to arrange a duet with her and her ex boyfriend, Chris Brown, following their collaboration of remixes on each others songs, however this now looks unlikely.

Rihanna and Brown split up in 2009 after a row on the way to an award party resulted in Brown being arrested for domestic violence against Rihanna, and a court order forcing him to stay away from her was placed.

American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez will also take to the stage to perform during this week’s results show on Thursday, May 10.

So far, several A-list performers have taken to the American Idol stage, including Coldplay, Lana Del Ray, Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry.  The show also welcomed back last years winner Scotty McCreery to perform again on the stage that launched his career.

Hollie Cavanagh, Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez are the final four contestants competing for the prestigious American Idol title.
