A new reality TV show is on the horizon and the all star lineup has been revealed!
Channel 4 is preparing to launch The Jump, a winter sports show that will feature a whole host of celebs skiing and snowboarding competitively and it’s been reported that first to sign up was Olympics star Sir Steve Redgrave, a retired British rower who won gold medals at five consecutive Olympic Games from 1984.
Steve joins 11 other stars who will take on the very physical challenges and he will hit the slopes with Simon Cowell’s ex Sinitta, TOWIE star Amy Childs, IT girls Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, former Pussycat Doll and Got To Dance judge Kimberly Wyatt, TV presenter Anthea Turner and former glamour model and Dancing On Ice contestant Melinda Messenger.
Male celebs that have inked a deal with Channel 4 include cricketer Darren Gough, comedian Marcus Brigstocke, celebrity hairdresser Nicky Clarke, an events organiser we’ve never heard of named Henry Conway and Sam Jones….. the actual Flash Gordon! We might just watch him in Ted again in celebration!
We are predicting injuries and panic attacks galore as the stars are trained to take on not just ski slopes, but also bobsleigh, speed skating (which should be a cinch for Melinda!) and the slalom.
The stars will receive expert help, coaching and mentoring from Eddie The Eagle Edwards, a British skier who in 1988 became the first competitor to represent Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping, and he’ll help train the stars as two of them are forced to face a ski jump on each show, in order to keep their place on the lineup.
Eddie told The Daily Star:
“This competition is as much about mental strength as it is about physical agility.
“Winter sports are tough to master. It takes skill, guts and determination to get round a course.
“The ultimate test will be The Jump itself. I know how hard it can be when the world is watching.”
