Sky Axes Project Catwalk

Sky One have announced that they have axed fashion TV show, Project Catwalk from their schedules next year.

Project Catwalk was a reality television show focusing on fashion design. The show follows a group of fashion designers as they compete against each other to avoid being “the next fashion victim” and win the competition. It is based upon the US reality show Project Runway.

The first series of the show was presented by famous model, Liz Hurley. The second and third was presented by Kelly Osbourne.

The show leaked viewers during the last series acheiving an average of just 110,000 viewers per show, so Sky says it’s looking for some ‘female-friendly’ replacement shows.

I was never a big fan of Project Catwalk so I can cope with the loss of this show, however I know some of you were passionate about it, especially since Kelly took over, so we’d love to hear your thoughts on Sky’s decision to get rid of the show.

as a young self taught designer, i love project catwalk. i have tried to get on the show myself but was unable to. i just think we need a new host on the show. Kelly is alright but the show need someone with more experience in fashion, some one who is more open to looks and styles of different individuals. i hope it doesnt get axed cuz i love it that much!

I’m quite disappointed that they wont be doing another series. I’m not generally in to ‘girly tv’ but loved watching this show as I’m very interested in clothing design and creation. I didn’t realise the ratings had dropped so much during the last series but surely they could have just given it less prime-time slot and continued it. I would hope that some other channel picks it up. As far as I know the American one is still going so we will all just have to resort to watching that one on youtube!

Hear we go again, the brits have lost out to the Americans yet again, I loved watching project Catwalk, I thought that sky was for the Brits when living in the UK, but No, we have to resort to watching all the American stuffffffffff, I would like to know of good English New Designers, I would also like to say, that I find it very interesting to know where the designers go to shop in the UK for materials etc. Kelly is fantastic honest and very fair to all desiners, I though Kelly did a great. Well Done to Kelly.

I am very very disappointed that Project Catwalk would not be producing another series in the near future!! i really enjoyed the show and the idea behind it, i have never missed an episode either!! Even though kelly was young and fresh i do not think she was a suitable host for this type of show even though she seem to mesh well with the other contestants. i think the producers should consider getting possibly a model with personality to host the show as heidi klum seems to be doing well in the american series project runway!! perhaps someone like kate moss, alexa chung or gok wan (his personality maybe be a bit too overwhelming for the show) would be more appropriate to catch more viewers, also the show should have better guests-maybe gok wan should be invited!!The judges werent bad at all i think julien macdonald insults were the funniest ever and ben de lisi is really great!!
