Sneak Peek at Living’s ‘Jade: A Year Without Her ‘

On LIVING tonight in-depth documentary Jade: A Year Without Her celebrates the life of the girl from Bermondsey, who captured the nation’s hearts when she faced – and ultimately lost – her courageous fight with cervical cancer last year. The special looks at the life of Jade from her meteoric rise to fame through to her untimely death, with proceeds going to Jade’s chosen charity, Jo’s Trust Fighting Cervical Cancer.

The programme features exclusive interviews with the people who knew her best, sharing how they coped with her death and how their lives have changed, including her mother Jackiey Budden; the father of her two sons, Jeff Brazier; and the family of husband Jack Tweed. There are also testimonies from her closest friends, who helped fulfil her wish of a dream wedding when she married Jack. This candid documentary also includes exclusive footage of Jade in which she relays the harsh reality of living with cervical cancer.

Jade tackled her disease head-on, vowing to overcome cancer while raising awareness among young women. Her work, coupled with her positive attitude to tackling the disease, made her one of 2009’s most talked-about – and now most missed – celebrities. Produced and directed by her friend and bridesmaid, film-maker Kate Jackson, Jade: A Year Without Her not only commemorates the first anniversary of her death, but also investigates ongoing campaigns to raise awareness of cervical cancer in the UK.
