So You Think You Can Dance: Series 3 Continues

So You Think You Can Dance

Quick-stepping onto LIVING this week is the latest instalment of the smash hit American dance contest So You Think You Can Dance. Hosted by Britain’s very own Cat Deeley (CD:UK, Stars in Their Eyes), this exclusive show sees 20 finalists battle it out to win the huge prize of $250,000 and the much-coveted title of ‘America’s Favourite Dancer’. Deciding which of the contestants are hot to trot and which are not are Nigel Lythgoe (Popstars) and choreographer Mary Murphy, with guest judge and choreographer to *NSYNC and Britney Spears Wade Robson joining them this week.

The first couple to take to the floor this week are Sabra and Dominic (both pictured), who complete a funky jive number. Their energetic routine ends with Sabra doing the splits while perched on Dominic’s shoulders, but while Nigel thinks they dance together better than any other pair, Mary has a few words of criticism. Later, Sara and Pasha perform a steamy jazz routine to Queen’s ‘Body Language’, while Anya and Danny tackle the foxtrot. With Anya still nursing a foot injury sustained last week, how will the pair get on with this trickiest of dances?

Fans of the show needn’t wait long to find out as the results show – where one male and one female contestant are told to pack their bags – airs straight after the performance show on LIVING2 each week. The judges decide which hopefuls must leave the contest by picking one boy and one girl from the three pairs with the least votes from the American public. This means the judges are usually just as shocked as the contestants when the losers are announced, and this week is no exception – when Cat announces that Anya and Danny are one of the three couples facing the chop, Mary vows to keep them in the contest, no matter what. Will the judges manage to agree on who to send home?
