Space Cadets – A Waste Of Space?

I came across this article today in The People

WHAT A WASTE OF SPACE
SPACE Cadets, presented by Johnny Vaughan is ridiculously pleased with itself, but why? C4 has spent £5million on a practical joke that isn’t funny.

They’ve conned a team of suckers into believing they’re space tourists when all the time they’ll be in Ipswich.

Yes, but what’s the point? At the end they’ll just be disappointed. The victims may be gullible but they’re not entertainingly vain and greedy like Big Brother contestants.

Where are the laughs meant to come from? Beadle would have hit them with fake engine failures, phoney asteroids and an 8ft alien before whipping off his helmet for a truly frightening finale.

And it would all have been over in half an hour.

I think this just about sums up what I think about this awful show. So far I have found it impossible to get into, I can’t seem to make myself care about any of the cadets or the prank about to be played. Hopefully now the fake launch has taken place the whole thing will become a bit more alluring!

  1. Mr. Hodges says:

Space cadets is bad to the point of being unwatchable. An already redundant and uninteresting joke is made unbearable by the presence of the infuriatingly smug and embarrasingly unfunny Johnny Vaughan. One can only pray that his tatty little career doesn’t survive this mess and that he ends up back in prison where he belongs.
