Splash! mentor and Olympic diver Tom Daley has revealed that after the show’s first series ends tonight, he wants to spend a bit more time trying to find himself a girlfriend.

I can’t imagine he’ll have to try too hard though, given his boyish good lucks and million dollar smile!

Speaking to The Sun, Tom said, “Despite the show and my diving, I still get to have a social life and see my friends…

“But I have only been out on one big night with [my friend] Leandro [Penna].

“I want a girlfriend but I’m too busy for a relationship at the moment. That will just have to wait.”

As to what’s next for Tom now Splash! is ending, he revealed that he’s determined to make a name for himself in presenting TV shows, just as Splash! host Vernon Kay does.

Tom said, “This is what I want to do when I finish diving. I want to be a big Saturday night TV presenter.

“I’d love to do big entertainment shows, so Vernon had better watch out!”

The paper adds, “Tom said he also wanted to return for a second series of the show, which is set to be based at Olympic Park next year.”

He said, “I’d love to be involved because it’s a show that I’ve really enjoyed doing and something that I’d love to do as long as I can.”

And of the criticism that Splash! has received from critics and some viewers, Tom said, “There’s always going to be criticism with the first show because it’s getting things going and getting it all sorted.

“Each show has got better and better and the viewing figures have stayed up.

“I think it’s kind of changing most of the critics’ opinions now, which is great.”

And finally, of tonight’s final, Tom remarked, “I’ll be doing synchronised dives with the finalists and my family will all be there to see me too.

“It’s going to be great.”
